Areas of particular expertise include high conflict families, domestic violence, Passive Violence Management © (PVM), acute and chronic mental illness, eating disorders, PTSD, anxiety, adolescents and psychogeriatric issues. The Institute’s present program offerings include seminars designed to satisfy the BBSE’s training requirements for domestic violence, child abuse, geriatrics and psychopharmacology.
We also provide weekly assessment seminars for post-doctoral and doctoral level clinicians, as well as licensed therapists desiring to refine their assessment skills/techniques, or receive training with a wide array of assessment devices. CEU's are offered by the Ananda Institute for MFT’s, LCSW’s and BSN’s who complete any of its offered training programs and/or seminars.
The Ananda Institute’s Passive Violence Management Program © (PVM) is an effective 40-hour training program for frontline, direct service personnel/clinicians in managing the angry or potentially violent client. PVM was originally developed in conjunction with Dr. Barry Nigrosh and incorporates psychodynamic intervention strategies with primary physical skills training to minimize the potential for harm to the patient or involved staff. PVM is a comprehensive team based approach for milieu management in residential, out-patient and clinic settings.
